Loving Logan

Ethan and Logan looove playing together!
In fact, these two were having so much fun they never even took a second to look up at the camera.

Birthday Party

Happy Birthday Sean and Drew!
This was the first time these two have ever combined their birthdays and I think they both really enjoyed themselves.  I was able to get the entire upper level of a pool house/restaurant reserved just for this occasion.  We enjoyed the company of good friends, good food and drinks, and several rounds of pool.  Originally when I sent out the evites I only had 5 people RSVP to say they were coming, I was so stressed because I had planned for much more.  But by 7:15 (the party started at 7pm) we had 30 of our closest friends and family up there celebrating with us.  Thank you everyone who made it, I know both Sean and Drew appreciate it tremendously.

What's a birthday celebration for these two without a round of shots?!?

Shhh

I remember when my mom would take me and my two sisters to the library when we were younger and we loved it.  It was always so exciting to search for new books and participate in the reading program. What is really nice is that everytime Grandma has Ethan in Delano with her she makes it a point to take him to the library.  So I took full advantage when the opportunity arose to take Ethan and Marlee to the Beale Library.  It was my first time taking either of them and they did so well.  We even signed Ethan up for his very own library card and he was able to check out two books, one about a pig walking a tight rope and the other about Dinosaurs in underpants!  He sure knows how to pick them hahaha

Pizza Making Field Trip

Our Mom To Mom group went to California Pizza Kitchen for a free tour and pizza making lesson.  The kids had sooo much fun.  It began with a theatrical play of the history of pizza, then everyone went to the kitchen where the children were able to assist in making some pizzas, afterwards we all sat down and enjoyed the fruits of 'child labor' hahaha.  After lunch we headed outside where our CPK host entertained us with his unicycle and juggling act.  He even fell in the water fountain which had the kids roaring with laughter and the mom's concerned if it was part of his act or a real accident!  Ethan thoroughly enjoyed his first group field trip and now everytime we drive by CPK he reminds me of how he went there and made some yummy pizzas.  I'm so grateful for the opportunity to partake in these mini adventures with my little ones, thanks Mom To Mom for all your guidance and support.
I absolutley LOVE this picture of Marlee, it shows off her perfect little lips

Lets Go Fly A Kite

While we were in OC for the weekend we thought we would take Ethan and Marlee out to the beach to fly a couple of kites.  Ethan was so excited...until the actually flying took place, then he got bored pretty quickly and preferred to play in the sand.  Nevertheless it was a wonderful way to end the day and I hope to be able to visit the beach monthly this upcoming summer.

Run Forest Run

February 7th, Super Bowl Sunday my mom and I woke up early and ran a 1/2 marathon in gorgeous Huntington Beach.  There were over 20,000 participants!  It was an inspiring event and we had so much fun.  Although I dropped the ball when it came to training and preparing myself for this event, I am pleased to report that my finish time was 3 and a 1/2 hours, just 30 minutes shy of my original goal time Woohoo!  My favorite part of the race was seeing Sean and the kids cheering me on just feet away from the Finish line.  I love my family.  My 2nd favorite part of the race was when we hit mile number 10; I was SO tired and sore yet my mom had just got her 2nd burst of energy or something because she was gun ho and ready to go!!  I'm already looking forward to the next event I'm able to do with the family

After the race we took a trip to Yard House to celebrate with some 1/2 yard glasses of beer, yummo!

Happy Birthday Daddy!

This year Sean and I agreed that we wouldn't exchange birthday gifts....but that doesn't mean we need to skimp on the decorations and celebration!  Wednesday night I decorated the house so Sean would wake up to a festive home on his birthday.  Ethan walked in and said, "Wow.  It's bootiful.......HEY, where's the cake!!!"  That silly boy, he sure has his priorities down.  Later in the day we surprised Sean at work.  We were hoping to get there right at his lunch period but got there a little too early; no worries though because he enjoyed showing off his family to his class.  He kept saying it was the best birthday he's ever had.  He even played hooky and skipped out on his night class at CSUB so he could hang out with us more.
Happy Birthday Sean!!

weekend getaway

This past weekend while Sean was away on a 3 day 2 night work retreat, I took the kids down south to visit cousin Logan and Aunty Dez.  I was a bit aprehensive at first.  Who wouldn't be?  A four hour road trip with an opinionated 3 year old and teething 5 month old is enough to get any sane person admitted to a padded room lol.  However, the entire trip was AmAzing.  On the way down we took a bathroom break at Starbucks where Ethan proceeded to read aloud the map and directions, it was adorable....."This is us, we are here...and Logan cousin Logan's house is right here.  We go this way and by the mountains and then we're here at cousin Logan's house."
While visiting we went bowling and Ethan got a spare all on his own!  The next morning we went to the park where the boys played for a short while until they spotted an open field that had some flooding in one corner.  Once they discovered that water oasis they spent the rest of their time hurling rocks and falling in the mud.  Afterwards we took them out of their muddy clothes and treated them to some Happy Meals.  They loved being naked, thought it was such riot.
The weekend came to an end too soon.  We were so sad to leave and are looking forward to our next visit!

a bunch of whine-ohs

A handful of my girlfriends share the same birth month as me, Erika even shares the same birthDay as me!  We decided to pay tribute to the awesomeness of January and go on a girls Wine Tasting Trip through Paso Robles.  It was sooo much fun, these ladies are a riot.  I loved visiting Clautierre, where you don on wigs while you taste the wines.  We also went to Martin Weyrich, EOS, Wild Coyote, and Thunderbolt.  The weather was beautiful and the company was amazing, can't wait to do this again!  This 1st picture documents our 1st purchase!!

Complimentary EOS water for the designated driver....me!
I loved this wine rack, but it would be too tempting for toddlers to destroy
gorgeous day with spectacular views
